Recently Telangana government announced the salary hike for MLAs from Rs 1.25 Lakh to Rs 2.75 Lakh and now planning to build swanky new houses for its legislators in their constituency headquarters. The cost of each two stories building will be Rs 1 Crore and the total cost of the project will be Rs 120 Crores. The ground floor will have an office and meeting hall. The first floor will have the residence with three bedrooms spread over 4,000 sft. It will also have hall, dining room and kitchen with bathrooms. Some MLAs have already started to make demands whatever they want at their new official residence. Few of them are eager to know vaastu structure. According to few MLAs, the budget of Rs 1 Crores is not enough to meet their demands. The Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is also building a new office for himself in the city at a cost of Rs 30 Crores. If everything will go accordingly, the Telangana legislators may well ring in 2017 in their new residence cum offices which will be completed in nine months.
