Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham who went on his indefinite hunger strike demanding reservations to his community and release of the accused in Tuni train burning case, has been finally arrested by CID Police at his home in Kirlampudi, in East Godavari district on Thursday evening. At his residence, Padmanabham threatened to consume pesticide and commit suicide if the police tried to arrest him. He asked police to show the arrest warrant from CB CID.
Thousand of Kapus reached at his residence to extend their supports and expressed solidarity with their leader. The police resorted to lathi charge on the supporters.
He was shifted to Hospital as it is heard that he consumed pesticide and he was admitted into Intensive care unit, his condition is normal now. Mudragada is likely to be presented before a magistrate.
