Abhimanyudu Review : Vishal and Samantha Akkineni starrer Telugu film Abhimanyudu, the dubbed version of Tamil film Irumbu Thirai has hit the theaters today on 1st June 2018. Let’s see how it is.
Story: Abhimanyudu is about Karunakar (Vishal), an army officer with anger management issues. He gets suspended for bashing a civilian and is asked to meet a psychiatrist. Karunakar come back to home and borrowed a loan for his sister marriage from a bank with false documents. When the entire money in the account vanishes, Karunakar tries to track down the scamsters, and it leads him to White Devil, a master hacker. What happens next? Who is White devil? To get these answers, one should watch the movie on silver screen.
Abhimanyudu Plus Points:
- Vishal
- Arjun
- Cinematography
Abhimanyudu Minus Points
- Tamil flavor
Performance: Vishal as an army officer is perfect. He has excelled in realistic action sequences. Arjun Sarja is excellent as the bad guy. His body language and facial expressions are superb. Samnatha Akkinnei comes in as a psychiatrist and does what she needs to do and nothing more. She looks pretty in nonglamourous avatar. Though she got limited screen space but her character in the film is noteworthy. Robo Shankar scores whenever he finds an opportunity. Delhi Ganesh has a commendable and sizable presence in the movie. Kaali Venkat, Vincent Asokan, and Madhusoodhanan justify with their roles.
Technical: Abhimanyudu is not just any other film that talks about hackers, this one is quite different, mainly because it creates fear inside you when you walk out of the theatre. It is informative. Number of technical terms involved in the narration. The songs are ok. The background score is pulsating and plays an integral part in Abhimanyudu especially during the pre-interval point and during the scenes where Vishal and Arjun meet. The cinmatography by George C Williams is flawless and the editing by Ruban is good.
Analysis: Abhimanyudu based on Cyber Crime, is a good message oriented movie. One of the biggest plus point of this film is the interesting story line and presence of Vishal and Arjun. The dialogues on how banks are reluctant to lend loans to the students or to farmers, how loan agents harass the people who have borrowed small amounts, how the Aadhaar Card might be used as a weapon, strike a chord.
