This is the second leak this week after the teaser of the Pa.Ranjith directorial venture’s Kaala, both much awaited projects starring Kollywood Superstar Rajinikanth. Rajini’s daughter Soundarya has taken to Twitter to criticise the leak. She tweeted,” Leaking content online before the official release should not be TOLERATED or ENCOURAGED ! This is a heartless act ignoring hard work, efforts and sentiments of the makers for few seconds of excitement !!! #BeAshamed #StopPiracy #StopMisusingDigitalMedium.”
A video of a minute and a half has been uploaded on the internet which has predictably gone viral within hours of the leak. 2.0, directed by Shankar and produced by Lyca Productions, is said to be India’s most expensive film. Produced over a budget of over Rs 400 Cr, 2.0 is a sci-fi film that the country is waiting for with bated breath. Bollwyood actor Akshay Kumar is playing the baddie in this larger-than-life science fiction and British bombshell Amy Jackson is playing the female lead. AR Rahman has composed the music for the film. The music launch event was held in Dubai’s Burj Khalifa.
The film was initially scheduled for Diwali 2017 release has been delayed twice so far. Now it is slated for an April release.
