Akshay Kumar to star in Hindi remake of Raghava Lawrence’s Kanchana 2

Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar is  eagerly waiting for the release of R. Balki’s Padman, which is gearing up for grand release on 9th February, has his hands full with Reema Kagti’s Gold,  Shankar-Rajinikanth’s 2.0 and recently announced Kesari.  The actor who has been the part of  several genres including comedy, romantic and action, opened up about his next upcoming project, which is a horror comedy movie. Akshay Kumar  has decided to act in Hindi  remake  of South Indian  film Kanchana 2. He will reprise the role of choreographer turned actor and filmmaker Raghava Lawrence. With the collections of around Rs 120 Cr at the worldwide box office, Kanchana 2 was a huge hit. Apart from Lawrence,  It also stars Taapsee Pannu, Nithya Menen and Kovai Sarala in key roles.

The trade analyst  Ramesh Bala shared the news on his Twitter account,  ”@akshaykumar to remake @offl_Lawrence – @taapsee ‘s 2015 Blockbuster #Kanchana2 in Hindi..”

Bollywood producers Prerna Arora and Arjun Kapoor of KriArj Entertainment are going to bankroll Kanchana’s Hindi remake.  Raghava Lawrence himself will helm this remake. The makers are planning to start the regular shoot of the film in September and the movie will release in the first half of 2019.
