Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu was spotted driving an auto rickshaw. CM Naidu stated that he is also a driver, who is driving the state on the development path.
On Saturday, AP CM Chandrababu Naidu was seen wearing Khaki shirt and was driving an auto rickshaw near his residence.
The auto rickshaw drivers met Chandrabbau Naidu and thanked to him for giving exemption from paying life tax. On the other side, AP CM, while driving an auto rickshaw, said that he was also a driver, who was driving the state on the development path. Number of auto-rickshaw drivers reached at the Chief Minister camp office at Amaravati on Saturday to offer their thanks for cancellation of life tax on auto-rickshaws.
On this occasion, Chandrababu Naidu said, he removed tax to benefit the auto rickshaw drivers. All the auto-rickshaw drivers in Andhra Pradesh have been granted lifetime exemption from paying life tax.
Chandrababu Naidu added, “We have exempted life tax payable under AP Motor Vehicles Taxation Act, 1963 on 3-wheeled contract carriages, 3-wheeled goods carriages up to the gross vehicle weight of 3,000 Kgs, tractors and tractor-trailers used for the agricultural purpose.”
Chandrababu Naidu wrote on his Twitter, “All the auto-rickshaws in AP will soon be upgraded to cost-effective and low-maintenance electric vehicles. This will help us control pollution in the State to a large extent.”
It seems TDP (Telugu Desam Party) is trying to secure votes of auto-drivers who are one of the crucial segment of voters in every state.
