Renowned Tamil actor-director, Samuthirakani has been roped in Baahubali director SS Rajamouli’s upcoming multi-starrer, RRR in which Young Tiger Jr NTR and Ram Charan are playing the lead role. The sources close to the film unit reveal that Samuthirakani will be seen playing crucial role in this period-action film RRR set in the backdrop of the pre-Independence era. It is heard that RRR has an important babai-abbai track and the makers felt Samuthirakani will give a different spin to the older character. Samuthirakani will start shooting for his portions in the next schedule. He will be seen essaying the role of Ram Charan’s babai (paternal uncle).
The first schedule of Rajamouli’s RRR was wrapped up earlier this month. The team is now gearing up to commence a 5 day schedule on 19th January in a specially-erected forest set in Hyderabad. Currently Rajamouli is on a break and is busy in the preparation of his son Karthikeya’s wedding.
RRR is being made on the lavish budget of Rs 300 Cr . it is believed that the makers of RRR have leased out 34 industrial cameras and 16 wheel trucks for a year for the production.
RRR which is being bankrolled by DVV Danayya, has the music by MM Keeravani, the multilingual drama will be released in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, and Malayalam. Currently the team is in the hunt of female leads.
Samuthirakani made his Telugu debut with Naalo, which was released in 2004. Later he was seen in Janda Pai Kapiraju, the remake of Nimirndhu Nil. Currently he is waiting for the release of multilingual movie Kitna, which is in post production stage.
On the other-side, Prabhas and Jr NTR are planning to host a party for Rajamouli’s son Karthikeya, who is going to tie the knot with Pooja Prasad, the niece of Jagapathi Babu, very soon.
