Yesterday on 24th February, on the occasion of 71st birth anniversary of late TamilNadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, Tamil film director AL Vijay announce the title of her biopic – ‘Thalaivi’. The biopic will be made in three languages- Telugu, Tamil and Hindi. The makers confirmed the Tamil title of the trilingual film as ‘Thalaivi.’ Baahubali, Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Manikarnika:The Queen of Jhansi fame writer Vijayendra Prasad (the father of SS Rajamouli) has also come on board for the film -Thalaivi.
The team has also confirmed the news that they have received the NOC from Mr. Deepak, the nephew of Ms. Jayalalitha. However, the cast and crew of the film hasn’t been announced yet. The biopic -Thalaivi will be bankrolled by Vishnu Vardhan Induri.
On the occasion of title announcement, the director also announced that Vijayendra Prasad, the ‘Baahubali’ writer and Rajamouli’s father, will be the script supervisor for this prestigious project. He added, “I’m immensely pleased to announce that Vijayendra Prasad, the popular writer of Baahubali is on board as our mentor. His contribution will be of a great value.”
Vijayendra Prasad has given Bollywood some other hits as well. If you have watched Magadheera or Vikramarkudu, you know he can create screen magic with his stories.
Recently filmmaker Priyadarshini also announced a biopic ‘The Iron Lady’ on Jayalalithaa in which Nithya Menon will be seen playing the role.
