Chandramukhi Muvvala, who is a transwoman, and has filed her nomination papers from Goshamahal constituency from the Bahujan Left Front (BLF) to contest in the upcoming Telangana Assembly elections, has reportedly been missing since early morning on 27th November. According to few, she has been kidnapped by someone.
A press release issued by a coalition, the Telangana Hijra Inters*x Transgender Samiti, said Chandramukhi Muvvala was untraceable all day and she was feared to have been kidnapped. A missing person complaint has been filed at the Banjara Hills police station confirmed the 32-year-old activist, who was a candidate of the BL), went missing sometime after 8.25 am. Her lawyer, MA Shakeel, said that he would file a petition in the Hyderabad high court on Wednesday.
Chandramukhi Muvvala is up against incumbent Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Raja Singh, Congress candidate Mukesh Goud, and TRS candidate Prem Singh Rathod. The Telangana assembly elections are going to be held on 7th December.
Her campaign team member Vinu, alleged that a person who was found lurking around her house in the CCTV footage could be involved in the disappearance of Chandramukhi Muvvala.
Banjara Hills SHO said, “Chandramukhi Muvvala went to sleep at 5 am, and asked someone to wake her up at 7 am. She received last call at 8.17 am, and her phone was switched off somewhere at Yaramanzil Colony, 2-3 km from her residence in Banjara Hills. She was noticed missing since 8.25 am and the door of her house is locked from outside.”
Chandramukhi Muvvala’s mother Anitha Muvvala said that she last spoke to her daughter between 8 and 9 pm on Monday. We discussed about how the campaign was going.” Anitha Muvvala added that her daughter was happy with the way things were progressing.
Chandramukhi Muvvala ‘s campaign kicked off just one day before she went missing.
Chandramukhi Muvvala is 1st and the only transgender candidate out of 3,584 candidates contesting in the upcoming Telangana election 2018.
