Dachepalli Rape Case: Rapist Subbaiah commited suicide?Yesterday www.tollywood.net reported that a 9 years old girl was sexually assaulted  by a 50-year-old rickshaw-puller Subbaiah in Guntur area, near Andhra Pradesh capital city Amaravati. And  the locals staged a protest yesterday morning at Dachepalli highway demanding the arrest of the accused.

According to Director General of Police M Malakondaiah, the rapist Subbaiah is mentally ill and might have committed suicide.  Subbaiah was seen heading towards Krishna River to end his life. Subbaiah had married twice and both his wives had left him.

The accused Subbaiah has been booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The child is admitted in government hospital in Guntur and is undergoing treatment. Two state ministers, P Pulla Rao and N Anand Babu, have visited the hospital and promised assistance to the child’s family.

The rape incident in Dachepalli caused huge outrage as people took to streets, demanding justice to the victim’s family. The police had a tough time to control the  protesters. Additional forces were called to control the situation in Dachepalli.

 Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu expressed shock and anger over the rape incident that happened in Dachepalli in Guntur district. Naidu directed the police to act tough against the accused and even announced a cash reward to those who catch the accused Subbaiah and hand him over to the police.
