Malayalam Superstar Dulquer Salmaan who played the role of Gemini Ganesan in recently released movie Mahanati– the biopic of legendary South Indian actress Savitri, delivered a breathtaking dance performance at the mega event ‘Amma Mazhavillu’ recently. It was the first time whem Dulquer Salmaan performed live on stage.
Actor Asif Ali said, “Dulquer Salmaan had planned 3-4 performances but during rehearsal time, he fractured his leg. But Dulquer Salmaan performed live on the stage.”
Recently during the media interaction Dulquer Salmaan also said, “I have landed myself with a broken ankle and torn leg ligaments that will keep me out of circulation for three weeks. It happened in Kochi where I was rehearsing for a fund-raising live show. As it is, I don’t do live shows. But this was for charity. During the rehearsal I felt something crack while I was doing an intricate dance step. I knew I had broken something.”
Dulquer Salmaan further said, “I did my show with Mohanlal Sir and my father. There was so much at stake here. If I had skipped the show there would have been repercussions since the tickets were sold weeks in advance. My choreographer was very accommodating. He changed the steps , made it easier for me .”
Malayalam superstar Mohanlal also participated in the event. Those who were eagerly waiting to watch the live performance of Mohanlal and Dulquer Salmaan together on the screen, the recently held mega event Amma Mazhavillu turned out to be perfect platform for it. Dulquer Salmaan as Aladdin started the show with other actors like Dharmajan, Saju Navodaya, Hareesh Kanaran and Ramesh Pisharody. Janatha Garage star Mohanlal made his entry as genie on stage.
The mega show marked the 25th year celebrations of Association of Malayalam Movie Artists(AMMA). The event was held in Sports Hub, Thiruvananthapuram on 6th May. Number of stars like Tovino Thomas, Namitha Pramod, Remya Nambeesan,Jayraram, Parvathy and others participated in this mega event. The event was telecast on 19th and 20th May. Tamil superstar Suriya graced the event as Chief Guest. Amma Mazhvillu is winning the hearts of Malayalees with the photographs and videos circulating over social media.
On the workside, Dulquer Salmaan is busy in his upcoming movies Zoya Factor in which Veere Di Wedding star Sonam Kapoor is playing the female lead.
