Samantha Akkineni to launch her dream project finally

Samantha Akkineni is popular for picking commercial films.  She is willing to do woman centric movie. In fact, she hasn't done a heroine-centric film till date, wherein her co-stars like Nayantara, Anushka Shetty, Trisha Krishnan, Anjali etc. are mostly signing thrilling subjects which will have scope to perform.  Now according to the latest update, she is planning to launch her dream project,  the Telugu/Tamil remake of Kannada mystery Thriller U Turn. The sources say that she is also going to bankroll  its both version and  remake  is going to be helmed by Pawan Kumar who had helmed the original Kannada version too. The upcoming remake will mark the debut of the director in both Tollywood and Kollywood.  Samantha will be seen playing investigative journalist in the film.


Samantha had even visited Bengaluru, along with Akkineni Naga Chaitanya, to watch a preview cut of the film and the talented actress had discussed the remake with the director at that time. U Turn starring  Shraddha Srinath, Roger Narayan, Dilip Raj and Radhika Chetan was released in 2016.


On the other side, currently Samantha is busy in his upcoming village based drama Rangasthalam 1985, directed by Sukumar. This is the first time when Samantha is sharing the screen space with Ram Charan in a film, which is being bankrolled by Mythri Movie Makers.  She will also be seen in Nag Ashwin’s Mahanati, the biopic on legendary actress Savitri,  in which Keerthy Suresh is playing titular role.
