Mahesh Babu’s Spyder fails to beat Duvvada Jagannadham, Jai Lava Kusa and Katamarayudu records

Superstar Mahesh Babu Spy thriller drama  Spyder has made an average collection at the box office of both Telugu States, Andhra Pradesh and Telanagna on the first day and failed to crush  the collection records of Stylish Star Allu Arjun’s DJ aka Duvvada Jagannadham (Rs 17.92 Cr),  Young Tiger Jr. NTR’s Jai Lava Kusa (Rs 21.81 Cr) and Power Star Pawan Kalyan’s Katamarayudu (Rs 22.27 Cr) as Spyder has collected Rs 15.30 Cr shares on its opening day.

Spyder  created lot of buzz and  its theatricals rights were sold out for record prices. The movie was released in over 1,000 across the Telugu speaking states on 27th September. Trade experts had predicted that Spyder would start on a good note and become one of the top biggest openers of the year. On its opening day, the film received mixed responses from everywhere  by the viewers and critics. The word of mouth took a toll on its collection in the afternoon and evening shows.

Andhra Box Office tweeted: "#SPYder starts with Below-Par WoM and Poor Openings except USA & HYD. #SPYder which was sold at Record Rates, failed to come close to any of the recent Biggies Openings in Telugu States. Trade Shellshocked."

AR Murugadoss’s directorial venture Spyder starring Rakul Preet Singh and SJ Suryah, has earned Rs 23.40  Cr gross ( Rs 15.30 Cr shares) at AP/TS box office on its opening day. It has beaten the  record of Srimanthudu (Rs 14.72 Cr) and Brahmotsavam (Rs 13.06 Cr).

Nizam      : Rs 3.6 Cr
Ceded      : Rs 1.8 Cr
UA           : Rs 1.75 Cr
East         : Rs 2.31 Cr
West        : Rs 1.9 Cr
Guntur     : Rs 2.02 Cr
Krishna    : Rs 89 Lakhs
Nellore     : Rs 1.03 Cr

Total 1st day AP/TS share : Rs 15.30 Cr
