Aravind Aakash who is well-known for his roles in Chennai-28 and its sequel, has been approached to play the crucial role in upcoming film Kaala Karikaalan, directed by Pa Ranjith. In the film he plays a Marathi police officer called Shivaji Rao Gaekwad.
During the media interaction, he said, “I am playing a Marathi Policeman in Kaala and I am very excited that the name of my character in the movie is Shivaji Rao Gaekwad (the real name of Rajinikanth). I have joined the set but did not get the chance to meet Thalaivar still.”
Recently the makers wrapped up the first schedule of Kaala in Mumbai where they shot few important scenes and a song including Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations in various parts of Mumbai. The second schedule got underway in Chennai where the team have erected a grand replica of Dharavi in EVP Film City reportedly at a cost of Rs 5 Cr.
Kaala has a huge star cast including Easwari Rao, Nana Patekar, Huma Qureshi, Samuthirakani, Pankaj Tripathi among others. The gangster drama has music by Santhosh Narayanan and bankrolled by Dhanush’s Wunderbar Films.
