Jagapathi Babu turns politicianJagapathi Babu has been approached to play the role of Andhra Pradesh YS Rajasekhara Reddy (YSR)’s father YS Raja Reddy in Yatra. YS Raja Reddy was mining baron and politician.

 Malayalam star Mammootty is reprising the role of YSR, in upcoming movie Yatra, which is being helmed by Mahi V Raghav of Anando Brahma fame. According to the latest buzz in the film industry, the makers of Yatra, has approached Jagapathi Babu to play the role of YS Raja Reddy in the Yatra. The makers feel that  Jagapathi Babu is perfect to play the role of YSR’s father, so they are planning to bring him on the board.

YS Raja Reddy who was born in 1925,  was an Indian mining baron and politician. Belonging to the powerful Y S family from Pulivendula in Cuddapah district, Raja Reddy was killed in a bomb attack in 1998. 16 persons were accused in the brutal murder of YS Raja Reddy after waylaying him near a culvert in Vemula town in Pulivendula Assembly constituency and hurling a bomb from a close range causing his instant death on 23rd May, 1998, during Telugu Desam Party rule.  YS Raja Reddy was going from YSR Estates at Idupulapaya to Pulivendula.

Recently during the media interaction Jagapathi Babu said, “Initially people said that I was not fit to be a hero, but later the people accepted me and the same people said that I had a golden leg. I wanted to do one film in my life, but I completed more than 120 films successfully. I have seen highs and lows in my life.”

 Jagapathi Babu is well known face for Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam audiences.  He has worked with noted directors like K. Raghavendra Rao, A. M. Rathnam, Ram Gopal Varma, Krishna Vamsi, Guna Sekhar, Radha Mohan, Chandra Sekhar Yeleti, M. Raja, and J. D. Chakravarthy.

On the work side, Jagapathi Babu will be next seen in upcoming much awaited movie Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy starring Chiranjeevi, Nayantara, Amitabh Bachchan, Tamannah Bhatia and others.
