Vijay Antony who has  received lot of applause his wonderful performance in Bichagadu,  was last seen in Annadurai/ Indrasena, which was average at the box office. Now Vijay Antony is coming up with an action periodic drama Kaashi, helmed by Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi. Kaasi is the dubbed version of Tamil movie Kaali. Finally the movie Kaasi/ Kaali has  hit the theaters today.  Let’s see the storyline of Kaasi.

Kaasi  storyline: Bharath (Vijay Antony) is a well established doctor who worked in New York City, haunted by a recurring nightmare.  When his mother suffers kidney failure, he tries to donate his kidney but it does not match. Then Bharath came to know that his parents are not biological parents,  he comes to India and start  the search of his parents.  He comes to his hometown Kancherapalem and finds about his mother and also that she was cheated by a person which resulted in her pregnancy. He starts the search of his father. Who is  Bharath’s father?     How does he find his father? To get these answer one should watch the movie on silver screen.

Kaasi Plus Points:

  • Vijay Antony
  • Emotional scenes

Kaasi Minus Points:

  • Screenplay
  • Tamil Nativity
  • Illogical scenes

Performance:  Vijay Antony as Bharath and Kaashi performed well. Vijay Antony does a superb job.  His roles have been executed well. Anjali got very limited screen space but  she did well though she doesn’t have any scope for performance. Sunaina is ok in her flashback role. Madhusudhan as Rayudu justifies with his role. Yogi Babu, Vela Rammoorthy, Nassar  and others performed accordingly.

Technical: The basic story line  of Kaasi is very interesting. It’s written well. Background music of Kaasi by Vijay Antony is good.  Cinematography by Richard M Nathan is alright. Dialogues are meaningful and elevate the proceedings well.  Editing is okay. Production values  of Kaasi by Vijay Antony Film Corporation are decent. Coming to the director Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi, he has chosen an interesting theme for  Kaasi.

Analysis: Overall Kaasi is an average entertainer movie. It needs a fine execution to make it work at all levels.  The way Vijay Anthony is seen finding his father in Kaasi is shown in an unnatural way.  Vijay Antony’s Kaasi also has a strong mother sentiment. The first half of  Kaasi has nothing new to offer. However, some twists and turns make the second half interesting and engaging.
