Kanna Lakshminarayana appointed as BJP state president of Andhra PradeshKanna Lakshminarayana is appointed as BJP’s state president of Andhra Pradesh on Sunday. Kanna Lakshminarayana  was a minister in several Congress governments in the state, but left it to join the BJP in 2014. The move comes weeks after it was widely reported that Kanna Lakshminarayana was quitting the saffron party to join the YSRCP.

Today, the national general secretary of  Bharatiya Janata Party, Arun Singh, said, “The national president of BJP, Amit Shah, has appointed Kanna Lakshminarayana, ex-minister, as the state president of BJP AP.”

Arun Singh further added, “Chandrababu Naidu’s string detractor MLC Somu Veerraju will be the state convenor of Election Management Committee.”

Kanna Lakshminarayana ,previously a Congressman, is a five-time MLA from Guntur district.

Kanna Laxminarayana expressed his happiness over being elected as BJP President of Andhra Pradesh.  Kanna Laxminarayana said, “I will make efforts for the development of Andhra Pradesh.”

 Kanna Lakshminarayana was first elected from Pedakurapadu Assembly segment in 1989. He had served in the Cabinets of former Chief Ministers N. Janardhana Reddy, K. Vijaya Bhaskar Reddy, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, K. Rosaiah and Kiran Kumar Reddy.
