Nithya Menen is going to play the role of Savitri in the upcoming movie – NTR biopic, in which Nandamuri Balakrishna is playing the role of his father and late Chief Minister of United Andhra Pradesh. It is known news that Keerthy Suresh played the role of Savitri in Nag Ashiwn’s directorial venture Mahanati- Savitri biopic and earlier it was also heard that once again Keerthy Suresh will play the role of Savitri but finally Krish brought new Savitri (Nithya Menen) for NTR biopic.
During the making of Mahanati, it was also heard that Nithya Menen was the first choice to play Savitri. Mahanati was first offered to Nithya Menen and asked to play Savirtri’s role. But she politely refused the offer citing personal reasons. Later, Keethy Suresh was roped in to play the titular role in the film. Now as once again, Nithya Menen got the opportunity to play Savitri, she agreed to become the part of this prestigious project.
The sources say that few scenes from the famous Telugu film Gundamma Katha will be recreated. The 1962-film starred Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR), Akkineni Nageswara Rao (ANR) and Savitri in the lead roles. The curly hair beauty Nithya Menen will be seen recreating the iconic scenes from Gundamma Katha in NTR biopic alongside Balakrishna, and Sumanth. It is known news that Sumanth is playing ANR in NTR biopic.
Krish, the director of NTR biopic felt that Nithya Menen’s ravishing looks and body language would perfectly complement the demeanour of Mahanati Savitri.
On the otherside, it has also come out that the name of Nithya Menen is also being considered to play the titular role in J Jayalalithaa’s biopic, The Iron Lady, which will be directed by Priyadarshini.
Nithya Menen was last seen in Nani Production venture’s AWE in Tollywood.
