Sensational film maker Ram Gopal Varma is currently busy in his upcoming film ‘Officer’ in which Akkineni Nagarjuna is playing the lead role. Currently the shoot is going on in Maharashtra and Nag took to Twitter to share a still from the location. He tweeted, “The jivdhani maya temple on top of the mountain & us on the 10th floor in Virar -Maharashtra for #Officer #NagRGV4/ summer has arrived!! (sic)”
The maverick filmmaker made a deal with Amazon for digital streaming of the film and he sold the rights for whooping amount. The sources say that the condition from Amazon is that they would be streaming the movie just after a week or two of its theatrical release. If sources are to be believed, Amazon’s quote is equal to the budget of the film and Varma is all set to pocked the theatrical share as profits.
There is also a buzz in the film industry that ‘Officer’ is inspired from the famous film ‘Taken’. Myra Sareen is playing the female lead. RGV posted a video on his microblogging page and captioned it, “Crowd gone berserk to catch a glimpse of Akkineni Nagarjuna Very few Telugus have such kinda craze in #Mumbai” (sic).
RGV and Nagarjuna have united for the fourth time for this upcoming cop drama after classic ‘Shiva’, ‘Antham’ and ‘Govinda Govinda’. The film which has the tagline ‘cops never scare this easy’ , is scheduled to hit the theaters on 25th May.
