Vijay Sethupathi, Gautham Karthik and Mega Princess Niharika Konidela starrer recently released movie Oru Nalla Naal Paathu Solren has beaten Deepika Padukone’s controversial film Padmaavat, and has taken the Number 1 position at Chennai Box office.
Last week, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat starring Ranveer Singh, Shahid Kapoor and Deepika Padukone‘s Padmaavat reigned over the Chennai Box office. This non-Tamil film managed to beat Baahubali fame Anushka Shetty’s Bhaagamathie and Nimir to take on the numero uno position. But Niharika’sTamil movie ONNPS which was released on 2nd February, witnessed a grand opening. Though the movie received mixed responses by the movie lovers and critics but it looks like that the negative word of mouth has not affected the film performance at the box office. Vikram Veda star made his screen presence in eight different avatars in Arumuga Kumar’s directorial venture.
Oru Nalla Naal Paathu Solren stands at the top position, Padmaavat continues to maintain its position, Bhaagamathie has been pushed to No.4. An English film, Maze runner – The death cure has taken the no. 3 position. Trade Analyst Sreedhar Pillai tweeted, “Top 5 at Chennai Box-Office-Feb 2 to 4 : No.5 #MaduraVeeran, No.4 #Bhaagamathie, No.3 #MazeRunnerTheDeathCure, No.2 #Padmaavat, No.1 #OruNallaNaalPaathuSolren.”
