Nani has been roped in the biopic of Tiger Nageswara Rao, the Robin Hood of Stuartpuram, a village near Bapatla in Andhra Pradesh. The upcoming biopic will be helmed by Vamsi Krishna of Dongata and Kittu Unnadu Jagratha fame, and bankrolled by Anil Sunkara under AK Entertainments.
Initially the makers wanted to rope Baahubali star Rana Daggubati to reprise the role of Nageswara Rao but as Ghazi star already committed to work in another biopic based on life of the iconic wrestler Kodi Ramamurthy Naidu, the makers approached Natural star Nani. The sources close to the actor say that Nani has been roped to play the role of Tiger Nageswara Rao and he is very excited to come on the board. It is also heard that Nani is yet to hear the narration and very soon Vamsi Kirshna will meet Nani and narrate the story line.
Recently during the media interaction Vamsi Krishna said, “I had prepared the script on Nageswara Rao’s life even before the release of Dongata. But I wanted to establish myself in the film industry first. Now, I feel the time has come to go ahead with this project- the biopic of Nageswara Rao, a notorious thief of Stuartpuram in the 1970’s.”
Vamsi Krishna further said, “Our society only knows that Nageswara Rao was a thief. But he was a Robin Hood for the poor. He used to distribute the proceeds from his burglaries among the poor. Nageswara Rao was one of the person who helped many people in various ways and sponsored the education of many poor students. My film will showcase all these unknown aspects of him.” Nageswara Rao was a daredevil robber of Stuartpuram and was shot dead by the police in 1987.
The sources say that Nani starrer biopic will go on floors either in July or August. On the otherside, Nani will be seen in controversial reality show Bigg Boss 2, which is going to be aired from 10th June 2018.
Meanwhile, Nani is busy in the shoot of his upcoming multistarrer, being helmed by Sriram Aditya, in which he is sharing the screen space with Akkineni Nagarjuna.
