On 29th July Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu appointed ace Shuttler PV Sindhu as deputy collector, a Group-1 service post, in the AP government and personally handed over the Government Order to her in the Secretariat in Amaravati, appointing her to the post.
The state government issued orders in this regard, mentioning that Sindhu is appointed the deputy collector, asking her to report to the concerned commissioner within 30 days.
On Wednesday the Rio Olympics silver medalist took the charge in the state Secretariat at Gollapudi. Accompanied by her parents, PV Sindhu, reached the office of Chief Commissioner of Land Administration and assumed the charge. She reported to CCLA Chief officer Anil Chandra Punetha and later signed the relevant documents to formally join the service. Although Telangana had also offered her a job, but PV Sindhu accepted the offer of Andhra Pradesh, the native state of her parents.
