NTR namaskaram to Indira Gandhi

NTR namaskaram to Indira GandhiNTR built up the TDP (Telugu Desam party) with the help of N Chandrababu Naidu, his son-in-law and a minister in Anjaiah’s cabinet. On the campaign trail, Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao focused on the Congress government’s corruption and decay and the tendency of ‘Delhi’ – the central government – to use the chief ministers like puppets. When the Prime Minister Indira Gandhi travelled to Andhra Pradesh (AP) to campaign for the Congress, she realized that the party had no chance against NTR. In the end, the TDP won 201 out of 290 seats whereas the Congress finished with 60 seats, and NTR became the first non-Congress CM of Andhra Pradesh. Both Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi were deeply upset over the Congress’s defeat in AP and took NTR’s success as a personal setback.  Now a pic of NTR showing respect to Indira Gandhi is going viral on the social media. The pic was clicked in Delhi. Coming on the pic, NTR is seen wishing Indira Gandhi with a namaskaram bending his body.

Currently NTR biopic is being made by Nandamuri Balakrishna, which will hit the theaters in the month of January. Balakrishna is playing the role of his legendary father and late Chief Minister of United Andhra Pardesh NTR.
