NTR (Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao)’s widow Lakshmi Parvathi has requested her deceased husband to take rebirth to save the self-respect of Telugu people. We have already reported that TDP president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Congress Chief Rahul Gandhi have joined hands. They have decided to work together to defeat the Modi government in 2019 elections.
NTR had formed TDP (Telugu Desam Party) in 1982 with the single purpose of defeating the Congress. Within 9 months, he stormed to the power ending the virtual monopoly of the Congress in AP.
Lakshmi Parvathi was second wife of NTR. He tied the knot with Lakshmi Parvathi in 1993, a few months before he returned to power. However, the party faced first major revolt when Chandrababu Naidu led a revolt against Lakshmi Parvathi’s growing interference in party and became the chief minister in August 1995.
NTR passed away in January 1996 and later in 2014 Lakshmi Parvathi joined the YSR Congress. She alleged that Chandrababu Naidu’s actions caused pain to crores of followers and admirers of NTR.
In a unique protest over Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Lakshmi Parvathi said, he has given up the very ideology for which the party was formed by joining hands with the Congress and “requested” her husband to “take rebirth” to cleanse the politics and restore the self respect of Telugu people.
Lakshmi Parvathi added, “I am waiting for the day when people of Andhra Pradesh will get back their self-respect.”
