Akhil Akkineni made his Telugu debut as lead actor with Akhil:The Power of Jua, directed by VV Vinayak, which was turned out disaster at the box office. Later he joined hands with Manam and 24 fame Vikram Kumar for Hello, where he shared the screen space with Kalyani Priyadarshan. Recently we have reported that Akhil has collaborated with Tholi Prema fame Venky Atluri for his third project. If ongoing buzz in media and film industry is to be believed DJ beauty Pooja Hegde has been roped in Akhil’s film to play a special role. How ever, it is yet to be known whether Pooja will also be seen sizzling in a song in this upcoming drama.
Pooja was last seen shaking legs for an item song ‘Jigel Rani’ in Sukumar’s directorial venture Rangasthalam starring Ram Charan and Samantha Akkineni, which is running successfully at the box office. She has also been roped in Young Tiger Jr.NTR and Trivikram Srinivas’s upcoming untitled project, which will go on the floors very soon. Mohenjo Daro and Mukunda fame Pooja Hegde will also play the female lead in Superstar Mahesh Babu’s landmark silver jubilee film.
The actress had earlier romanced Akhil’s brother Naga Chaitanya in her second Tollywood outing Oka Laila Kosam and currently busy in her ongoing project Saakshyam, which is progressing at brisk pace in the direction of Sriwass. Young actor Bellamkonda Sai Srinivas is playing the lead role in this drama, which is being bankrolled by Abhishek Nama under Abhishek Pictures.
