Ace character artiste Rao Ramesh’s mother Kamala Kumari passed away in the wee hours of Saturday. She was 77. She was the wife of legendary Telugu character artiste and noted villain Rao Gopalarao.
She was survived by two sons and a daughter. Her elder son Rao Ramesh is Tollywood’s leading character artiste.
She was a well-known Harikatha artiste. She did many stage plays and was also known for the rendition of Hari Kathas. Kamala Kumari had given more than 5,000 Harikatha performances across Andhra Pradesh and other states. She was also popular for her programs in Doordarshan Channel.
Kamal Kumari and Rao Gopal Rao met at stage plays, later fell in love and married to each other.
