Editor Krishna Prasad also appealed Amitabh Bachchan (Big B) through Face book, “You are big guy and we respect you a lot. Don’t let the future generations ask this question that when the society was in danger, you were silent. You are a great voice Sir. Speak up, Sir. Don’t give me reasons and excuses that ‘I have seen it all…I am old. I don’t want to get into all this’. You have been a wonderful man. You are a sensible man. We need your voice, Sir.” But unfortunately Amitabh Bachchan did not respond.
Prakash Raj said, “I wanted him (Amitabh Bachchan) to say that ‘stop this.’ Prakash Raj further said, “It was a request. I feel that as artists we have to speak about our society. When artists become coward, we will become the reason for the society to become coward.”
When Prakash Raj was asked, if he felt Amitabh Bachchan was being cowardly, Prakash Raj replied, “I think so. I am requesting him to ‘please join hand, it’s important.’ But Amitabh Bachchan is not coming forward to speak on the topics of Kathua and Unno rape case. This is not right for this country.”
Prakash Raj also added, “Bollywood has stopped giving me offers ever since i started criticising Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”
Prakash Raj’s attack against Amitabh Bachchan came just weeks after Pooja Bhatt slammed Big B for his remarks on the recent rape cases particularly the gang-rape and murder of an 8-year-old child in Kathua and the rape of an 18-year-old girl by a BJP MLA in Uttar Pradesh.
On 22nd April, Pooja Bhatt wrote on the wall of twitter, “A ‘recovering’ alcoholic & proud of it!In a country where people don’t even acknowledge they have a drinking problem, let alone discuss it I am grateful to stand away from the crowd that considers holding your frailties to light shameful. #485dayssober”
