Prakash Raj took to his Twitter and wrote, “HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE..a new beginning .. more responsibility.. with UR support I will be contesting in the coming parliament elections as an INDEPENDENT CANDIDATE. Details of the constituency soon. Ab ki baar Janatha ki SARKAR #citizensvoice #justasking in parliament too..”

After Kollywood stars Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan, the versatile South Indian actor Prakash Raj has also decided to make his entry in Politics. On the occasion of new year, Prakash Raj announced that he would be contesting the upcoming 2019 elections as an independent candidate.

 His announcement regarding his political entry has received over 3000 Likes on Twitter.  His fans and followers are sending congratulatory messages and wishing him luck in his political career.

 Prakash Raj is a big critic of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He has been criticizing Modi government ever since the brutal murder of Kannada based journalist Gauri Lankesh in Bangalore.

Prakash Raj is one of the most vocal critics of India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi and ruling BJP,  who often takes to social media to express his view.

Gauri Lankesh was the good friend of Prakash Raj.  She was shot  dead as she returned home early in September from her office in Bengaluru.

On the occasion of New Year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also wished a happy new year to all saying “let us enter into the new year with such little achievements, begin our new year and take concrete steps in the journey from Positive India to Progressive India”.

Prakash Raj is a multilingual film actor, film director, producer, thespian and television presenter who is known for his works in the South Indian film industry, and Hindi films. And now he has decided to take the political plunge.
