Filmmaker Puri Jagannadh is re-launching his son Akash Puri with upcoming Telugu film ‘Mehbooba’, an intense love story set against the backdrop of the 1971 India-Pakistan war. According to the latest update, the makers have wrapped up the entire shoot of the film.
Puri Akash will mark his second appearance as the lead star after ‘Andhra Pori’. On the otherside leading lady Neha Shetty, will make her Tollywood debut in the film. Recently released teaser of the film grabbed several eyeballs and increased the eagerness of the movie lovers to watch the movie on silver screen. Puri is confident about this upcoming film.
The film is bankrolled by Puri Jagannadh himself and it has the music by Sandeep Chowta. The sources close to the film unit say that the makers are planning to release the film on 27th April 2018. In this situation, Mehbooba will compete with Mahesh Babu’s Bharat Ane Nenu and Stylish Star Allu Arjun starrer ‘Naa Peru Surya’ which are also arriving at the theaters on the same date.
Mahesh Babu’s pervious offering Brahmotsavam and Spyder were commercially flop at the box office and he is planning to deliver a hit in the form of his political drama ‘Bharat Ane Nenu’, directed by Srimanthudu fame Koratala Siva, in which Kiara Advani is playing the female lead. On the other side, Bunny’s DJ aka Duvvada Jagannadham was hit at the box office (According to makers) and he is pinning lot of hopes of NPS for which he did shooting under -12°C temperatures at Indo-Pak border.
