Rajinikanth scores hat-trick in Tollywood

Rajinikanth scores hat-trick in TollywoodKollywood Superstar Rajinikanth scored a hat-trick flop in Tollywood with his recently released movie Petta, after Kaala and 2.0.

Everyone is shocked as  Petta is Rajinikanth’s third consecutive flop after Kaala and 2.0. According to the traders report, Petta, which was released on the occasion of Sankranthi, has completed its run at the box office and it has earned approx  Rs 6 cr at the box office of both Telugu States – Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. And finally turned out commercially flop at the box office.

While Petta took a flying start in Tamil Nadu and in the overseas when released on Pongal, it couldn’t do much in the Telugu states as it faced competition from big Telugu releases- Ram Charan, Kiara Advani starrer Vinaya Vidheya Rama, F2 Fun and Frustration starring  Venkatesh, Varun Tej, Mehreen Kaur Pirzada, Tamannah Bhatia and NTR Kathanayakudu starring Nandamuri Balakrishna and Vidya Balan. As a result of which Petta failed to get the desired screens. And even when there was an increase in the screen count in 2nd week, the box office numbers of Rajinikanth starrer failed to rise.

While Rajinkanth starrer Petta has made more than Rs 250 Cr at the worldwide box office, it has turned out to be a disaster in its Hindi version and in fact, has even failed to rock the ticket window even in its Telugu version. Petta is directed by Karthik Subbaraj and produced by Kalanithi Maran under his production studio Sun Pictures.
