Ram Gopal Varma is currently busy in the promotional activities of his upcoming cop drama Officer starring Akkineni Nagarjuna. According to the latest update, Ram Gopal Varma is not getting any theater for Officer that is the main reason he has postponed the release of Officer. Recently he announced that the release of Officer has been postponed. Ram Gopal Varma tweeted, “Since many technical elements of #Officer with regard to the best viewing experience are taking much longer than initially planned , we decided to postpone @iamnagarjuna ‘s Officer release from 25 th May to 1st June”

There are various reasons that a movie goes to the video not to theaters. They are either bad because of terrible production, direction, acting, writing, and bad production value, and most often a combination of all of those elements.
The script of Officer has been already leaked and the audiences are also not happy with the trailer of Officer. Ram Gopal Varma has already revealed that the character played by Akkineni Nagarjuna is loosely based on a real life cop KM Prasanna who is currently serving in Mumbai. Ram Gopal Varma tweeted “The Story of @iamnagarjuna ‘s OFFICER is based upon a true life IPS officer K M Prasanna from Karnataka , who was appointed as the chief of a SIT (Special Investigation Team) to investigate a highly reputed cop in Mumbai.”
Ram Gopal Varma again tweeted,” it’s the details that IPS officer K M Prasanna personally told me in 2010 that finally became the story of #Officer . @I amnagarjuna is playing Mr.Prasanna who at present is the Additional Commissioner of Police ,Crime Branch , Mumbai.”
Myra Sareen is playing the female lead in Officer. Officer is being produced by Ram Gopal Varma himself under the banner of RGV Factory jointly with Sudheer Chandra.
On the otherside, Sarkar 3 Writer P Jaya Kumar has alleged that Ram Gopal Varma aka RGV has plagiarised his script for Officer, starring Nagarjuna.
Ram Gopal Varma’s Officer has also been stayed by Bombay High court. YT Entertainment Limited had filed a petition that Ram Gopal Varma had promised them to pay Rs. 1.06 crores before the movie’s release, but failed to do so.
