Sukumar’s directorial venture Rangasthalam starring Ram Charan and Samantha Akkineni is on a winning heart. The much awaited village based drama was released on 30th March and on Day 1 the film raked in a whopping Rs 46 Cr at the worldwide box office leaving behind Hindi release Baaghi 2 starring Tiger Shroff and Disha Patani. In four days, Rangasthalam managed to enter the Rs 100 Cr club, thus becoming the sixth fastest south film to do so.
The film has already beaten the life-time distributor shares of Chiranjeevi’s Khaidi No 150 and Mahesh Babu’s Srimanthudu. Rangasthalam has set a new non-Baahubali record as the highest grossing Telugu film.
Recently during the success party, Sukumar said to have danced along with his loving wife. The success party was attended by all the families of cast, crew of Rangasthalam. It was just family get-together of director, producers and their closed ones. It is heard that Sukumar’s wife also matched her steps. Everyone was shocked to see the dancing skills of Rangasthalam director Sukumar.
Trade sources say the success of Rangasthalam will hugely benefit Ram Charan’s next outing with Baahubali film maker SS Rajamouli. The yet-untitled project marks the first time collaboration of Ram Charan and Jr NTR.
