Baahubali 2 is one of the most awaited movie of year 2017. The buzz for Baahubali:The Conclusion is not only huge in South but all over the world. After watching its first part, Baahubali:The Beginning in 2015, everyone was early waiting to get the answer ‘Why Kattappa killed Baahubali? Finally the day has come! Baahubali 2, helmed by SS Rajamouli has released over 9,000 screens all over. Let’s see whether the film reaches our expectations or not.
Story: Baahubali:The Conclusion starts from where Baahubali:The Beginning ended. As shown in the first part, Baahubali (Prabhas) declared as a king of Mahishmati and Bhalladeva( Rana) as supreme Commander. As a part of the Kingdom’s ancestral ritual, the would-be king needs to visit the countryside to know what problems the people in the kingdom are facing. Baahubali visits to a small kingdom Kuntala and gets attracted to Princess Devasena (Anushka). He brings her to Mahishmati. After coming back to his palace, he was shocked after hearing the changed decision of Shivagami (Ramya Krishna) as she announced Bhallaladeva as the king of Mahishmati kingdom. Why did Shivagami suddenly change her decision? Why did Kattappa kill Baahubali? To know these answers, one should watch the movie on silver screen.
Performance: Prabhas is brilliant as he portrays vulnerability and toughness with amazing ease. Once again, he stole the hearts with his royal look, cute smile and romantic style. His body languages, the way of showing expression, mannerism in action and war sequences are highlighted. Anushka looked very beautiful as well as ferocious. She stole the show by her looks and also performed stunts along with Prabhas. Tamannah Bhatia got limited screen space. Rana Daggubati looked cunning and wicked. He grabbed the attention of everyone with his macho looks. His evil expressions and menacing look are the major assets. Nassar performed well and won the hearts with his dialogues and expressions. Ramya Krishna’s attire, dictation, expression and body languages are appreciable. Once again she has given her powerful performance. Subbaraju surprised the audiences with his comedy and Sathyaraj has justified with his role as loyal servant to the kingdom. Others performed accordingly.
Technical: The storyline of Baahubali 2 is suspenseful. Screenplay is well written that keeps the audiences glued onto the screen. On the technical front, the cinematography by Senthil Kumar is breath-taking. The movie is rich on the visual side. MM Keeravani’s music is appealing and elevating scenes. However the songs could have been better. War sequences are choreographed well by Peter Heins and are the major assets. Screenplay is appreciable. Editing by Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao is good. Production Value is top notch. The kingdom of Mahishmati and sets look top notch on screen. The entire team of Makuta deserves applause to take the movie to another level with their VFX works. The costume designer has done decent job. Each character looks top class. The weaponry created and props used during the war episode looked quite lethal. Finally the technician team of Baahubali has proved their talents.
Analysis: Stunning visuals, mesmerizing graphics, background music, Cinematography work, performance of Prabhas, Rana, Anushka and Ramya Krishna, powerful climax fight between Prabhas and Rana are the major assets of the movie. Earlier many criticized Baahubali:The Beginning as contentless but Bahaubali:The Conclusion has powerful story with twists and turns. The movie has an interesting first half and emotional second half that connects well to the audience.
