Srinivas Avasarala’s much hyped movie ‘Babu Baga Busy’, the remake of Bollywood hit movie Hunterrr, directed by Naveen Medaram, which has created enough curiosity among audience with it’s promos and trailer has finally hit the theaters today. Let’s see whether the film reaches audience expectations or not.
Story : The movie starts with Madhav(Srinivas Avasarala) being rejected by all the girls proposed for marriages. He wants to settle down with Radha (Misthi Chakravarthy ) but the things are not easy as he has a glorious past with umpteen girls on his lustful journey. He is someone who can only and only think of sex. He leaves no stone unturned to satisfy his sexual needs. Rest of the story, how Madhav reveals his flashback to Radha and what she decides after knowing his story.
Performance: Srinivas Avasarala has delivered his fantastic performance. His expressions, body languages and performances are highlighted. He does what is one of the most difficult task, give male sexuality a face and present possibly all its angles with this film. Mishthi Chakraborthy is good and she does good job. Nothing challenging in it but she does exactly what she is expected to so and it works. Tejaswi Madivada has a small role and she does not put in much but mostly does only what she is asked to do. Sri Mukhi as Sobha Natarajan is ok. Supriya Aysola is good and she is convincing as neighbour aunty. Posani Krishna Murali, Priyadarshi, Adarsh Balakrishna, Tanikella Bharani, Ravi Prakash, Sudha and Annapurna perform accordingly.
Technical: It is all about Madhav’s journey, his coming of age tale. The writers play with the script intelligently but the movie executed in boring manner. The background score is pathetic and does not elevate the film one bit. The movie has too many songs that test the patience of the audiences. Cinematography is good. The production value is ok. Editing could have been a lot better. Screenplay lost its flow and has few jerks.
Analysis: The screenplay and dialogues of Babu Baga Busy lack interest. Overall it is meaningless and poorly executed movie. Neither it has adult content nor good comedy. There are so many flashbacks varying from few months to few years, this all could have well been avoided. Naveen Medaram tries to make the adult comedy movie without making it look vulgar, but weak direction and screenplay spoiled the entertainment level. The film's oscillation between the past and the present act as speed breaker.
