Editor Review

After delivering successful movie 'Geetanjali' and 'Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu', actress Anjali came up with horror flick ‘Chitrangada’  which has hit the theaters today on 10th March 2017.  It is a woman centric movie, directed by 'Pilla Zamindar' fame Ashok G. Let’ s see the story line:

Story: Chitrangada aka Chitra (Anjali) is a psychology professor in a college who lives in a working women’s hostel. She is also doing research on the existence of paranormal activity.  As the time passes, she starts behaving weirdly. After seeing her changed behaviors,  the girls in the hostel start leaving the hostel. Very soon Chitra comes to know that she is haunted by deadly dreams and vision, this leads her to take off to the USA to unravel the mystery behind her experiences.  What is the dream all about? How does she come out from this mess?  Forms the rest of the story.

 Plus Points:

  • Anjali
  • Cinematography
  • Screenplay
  • Comedy

 Minus points:

  • Songs

Performance:  Once again, Anjali has proved with her fantastic performance that she has ability to carries the movie on her shoulder.  Her performance, expression and body languages are mind-blowing.  Jaya Prakash does his doctor role very well. Comedian Sapthagiri, who plays Kunjan Ko Babban and Sudigal Sudheer as Kanakambaram justify with their roles. Some horror comedy scenes between Sapthagiri and Anjali quite funny. Sapthagiri showcases his mark comedy. The rest of the cast perform accordingly.

Technical:  The story line and screenplay format is good. The dialogues are entertaining. The cinematography work is one of the major highlight of the movie as the cinematographer captures the visual of USA in splendid manner.  The brilliant camera work cleverly hides the production value of the film.  Coming on the director G Ashok, he comes up with an interesting story line and the way he executes the movie, is appreciable. Editing is ok. The Background score is decent but couple of songs look like speed breaker to the screenplay which appears a forced inclusion.

Analysis: Overall Chitrangada is good entertainer movie. The major assets of the movie are the performance of Anjali, screenplay and comedy. Gripping and brilliant screen play engages the audiences till end. The credit goes to G Ashok as he narrates the story in an entertaining manner.
