Gunturodu Movie Review :

Manchu Manoj  starrer with mass masala entertainer drama ‘Gunturodu’, set in the backdrop of Guntur, written and directed by KS Satya, has hit the theaters today. Let’s see the story line.

Story: Kanna (Manchu Manoj) is a happy guy who lives in Guntur. One day, he  gets involve in huge fight with  a lawyer named Seshu (Sampath) who maintains a gang in Guntur and Kanna injures Seshu badly. Upset Seshu starts chasing Kanna and targets his father (Rajendra Prasad).   The things become complicated when Kanna falls in the love of Amrita (Pragya Jaiswal) who is the sister of Seshu.  How Kanna will turn back on him to get the love of his life?, form rest of the story.

 Plus points:

  • Manchu Manoj's dialogue delivery
  • Sampath
  • 2nd half action sequences

 Minus points:

  • Romantic track
  • Routine story
  • Lack of Comedy
  • Editing

Performance: Manchu Manoj delivered terrific performance as Kanna. His  body languages, way of dialogue delivery, facial expressions and energetic avatar are impressive.  He rocks in high voltage action sequences. Pragya Jaiswal  grabbed the attention of audiences by her glamour avatar.  The presence of Samapth is one of the big assets of the movie. Rajendra Prasad, Kota Srinivasa  Rao performed accordingly.

Technical:  There is nothing special in the story line. The cinematography work by Siddharth Ramaswamy is good. The action sequences are choreographed well. The production value is also good. The locals of Guntur are nicely showcased by camerawork. The art direction is another plus. The music by DJ Vasath is decent. The songs are ok and did not disturb the flow of the flick. Director Satya become successful to utilize the potential of Manchu Manoj and  the way he present the  hero- villain conflict needs applause.  Editing by Karthik Srinivas is not up to the mark, he should have shortened the dragged scenes.

Analysis: Overall Gunturodu is an average mass masala and only one time watchable movie.  The interval bang and  pre-climax fifths are the major assets. Manchu Manoj’s energetic avatar and Sampath Raj’s performance give the movie good moment.  One of the major drawback of the movie is lack of entertainment. Narration is not much impressive. The romantic angle between lead pair is very week and there is no comedy. Climax also look silly as Rao Ramesh make his entry as minister and solve the issue. The movie is good only for them who are interested in action entertainer.
