ganta Ravi Teja, the son of Andhra Pradesh minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao is debuting into industry with cop drama Jayadev, directed by Jayanth C Paranjee, which has hit the theaters today on 30th June. Let’s see the story line:
Storyline: Jayadev (Ganta Ravi Teja) , an honest police inspector about to be promoted as ACP, is tenacious and fearless. He gets involved in a deadly murder case of a cop. A cop is murdered in a place that is under his jurisdiction and so he starts investigating the case. After the investigation, he came to know that a liquor don (Vinod Kumar) is behind all this but an unforeseen accident involving a gun and a student, puts his career in jeopardy and he gets suspended. However, Jayadeva realizes that this accident has a connection to the case involving the dead cop. Now, he has to play a cat-and-mouse game with don while trying to hold on to his job. Rest of the story is as how he solves the case.
Performance: The performance of Ghanta Ravi Teja as Jayadev is ok. He has good physic and nicely lift his role. He needs improvement in the terms of his expressions and body languages. Malavika Raj is cute and beautiful. Her character is not a strong one, but she has done a neat job. Vonod Kumar plays key role after a long time. Posani Krishna murali and Vennela Kishore tried to generate comedy and they became successful to bring the laugh. Siva, Surpreet and others performed accordingly.
Technical: The story line of the film is simple and predictable. Dialogues are ok. There are no major twist and turn. Jayanth C narrate a film in a boring manner. The villain’s track is so poor that there is nothing else to look forward as the film moves on some silly and loud scenes most of the time. Songs composed by Mani Sharma are ok, background score is good and lifts the mood of the film whenever required. Cinematography is good and showcased the cop set-up in an interesting manner. Editing is below par and could be better. At least 15 minutes could have been easily chopped off. Action sequences are good. Production quality looks good.
Analysis: Overall Jayadeva is regular Cop drama with huge action backdrop. Such a story needs execution in terms of screenplay and logic. Ghanta Ravi should chose a simple romantic storyline to make his entry in Tollywood. Even though he tries his best to deliver a good entertainer but lack of gripping moments take the film down. The comedies do keep coming at regular intervals and they are among the biggest plus to the film. Thanks to Vennela Kishore and Posani. Jayadeva is just an average and one time watchable film.
