After delivering commercially flop BruceLee, Srinu Vaitla is coming up with romantic and comedy entertainer ‘Mister’starring Varun Tej, Lavanya Tripathi and Hebah Patel, which has hit the theaters today on 14th April. Both Gopichand and Sreedhar Seepana have provided the story-line and screenplay for this triangular romantic entertainer. Mister is going to be an acid test for both Srinu Vaitla and Varun Tej, who are desperately in need for a decent hit. Let’s see the storyline.
Story: Chai aka Pichchaiah Naidu (Varun Tej) is a happy-go-lucky guy who live in Spain along with his rich family. He accidentally picks up Meera (Hebah Patel) from the airport and falls in her love. But very soon, she gives shock by saying that she already loves Siddharth (Prince). After few days, Chai receives a call from India by Meera and she asks his help in her love matter. After hearing it, Chai flies down to India to help her and comes in the contact with Chandamukhi (Lavanya Tripathi). He is torn between the duo and how he solves Meera's problems and overcomes all the troubles, forms the rest of the story.
Performance: Varun Tej has given a commendable performance. He impressed the audiences with his action, romance and good comic timing. Hebah Patel as Meera, attracted the audiences with her glamour. Lavanya Tripathi as Chandramukhi looked cute and she impressed with her traditional look. 30 years Prudhvi gave much laugh to the audiences with his comic act. Nikitin Dheer, Prudhviraj, Harish Uthaman, Raviprakash, Anand, Eeswari Rao, Nassar and Chandramohan performed accordingly.
Technical: The story-line of the movie is simple and predictable. There are some silly sequences which are added to the movie. Mickey J Meyer failed to make impact with the background score and the placement of couple of songs, looked like a speed breaker. The visuals captured by KV Guhan is superb and the main asset of the movie. The editing could have been a lot better. Production value is rich. The screenplay lost its flow and has few jerks.
Analysis: Overall Mister is an average and clean romantic entertainer. The first half has very routine family setup and love backdrop. 30 years Industry Prudhvi and Oopiri spoof by Raghu Babu adds humour. The second half tests the patience of the audiences. It starts with entertaining way but becomes fail to engage the audiences. The storytelling slightly falls flat in the second half, which becomes too predictable. Cinematography, rich production value, good choreography of action and dance and star casts are the plus points. The direction, predictable storyline, tedious narrations are the major drawback. Srinu Vaitla tried to entertain the audiences with the comedy in the backdrop of beautiful locations of Spain in the first half but wrapped everything without comedy and routine action sequences in the second half.
