Oopiri Movie Review :

The much hyped movie “Oopiri” starring King Nagarjuna, Karthi and Tamannah Bhatia, which is written and directed by Vamsi Paidpally has hit the theaters in Telugu as well as Tamil today in a very grand manner. After delivering Manam and Soggade Chinni Nayana , Nag is planning to score hat trick with Oopiri. It is a comic and sentimental drama and revolves around a wealthy quadriplegic and poor guy. Let’s see the story line.

Story Line: Seenu (Karthi) is a guy who released from the jail on parole and he is thrown out of the house by his mother (Jayasudha) which is upset with the behaviour of Seenu. He attends an interview with the intention to get the shelter and appointed as care taker of Vikram Adithya (Nagarjuna Akkineni), who is billionaire and chairman of Vikram Adithyaa group of companies and he is quadriplegic patient. How will Seenu take care of  Vikram?  What is the main intention of Seenu behind the job? To get these answers, one should watch the movie on silver screen.

Plus Points:

  • Performance of Nagarjuna
  • Presence of Karthi
  • Glamour of Tamannah
  • Cinematography
  • Production Value
  • Music

Minus Points:

  • Editing
  • Second half dragged

Performance: Akkineni Nagarjuna in the role of quadriplegic has delivered his best. He has done fantastic job. He became successful to maintain the balance in comedy and sentimental scenes.  Actor Karthi has delivered his best and attracted the audiences by his comedy with Ali. Karthi shows a remarkable flexibility. The acting efforts of the leading cast have to be lauded and it’s Nagarjuna and Karthi who remarkably deals with emotions and comedy. Milky beauty Tamannah Bhatia grabbed several eyeballs by her glamour look and she is looking very pretty. The chemistry between Karthi and Tamannah is highlighted.  Jayasudha performed well and has done superb job as a middle class mother. The cameo role of Sriya Saran, Anushka and Adivi Sesh impressed the audiences. Prakash Raj, Ali, Thanikella Bharani and others increase the entertainment quotient in the movie.

Technical:   Vamshi Paidpally became successful to utilize the talent of Nagarjuna and Karthi and delivered his best.  He has done a decent job in the first half, but fails to maintain the tempo in the second half because of few dragged scenes. Background music which is scored by Gopi Sunder elevates the scenes and suits the mood of the movie. Cinematography of PS.Vinod is superb and he really needs special applause. He is completely succeeded in making the frames look good in every situation. Editing work is not up to the mark and could be better  by chopping few scenes from the second half especially the Paris episode.  The better editing style would have helped the movie’s  pace and flow. Screenplay is engaging.  Dialogues of Abburi Ravi  received appreciations and are well penned at places. Production value is good.

Analysis: Overall the movie is good that touches the audiences emotionally and fully loaded with human values. It is a worth watching movie.  Nagarjuna stole the show by his wonderful performance. His emotion and sentimental scenes in the movie are appreciable and highlighted. He has proved once again that he is able to carry the entire responsibility of the movie on his shoulder. The first half of the movie is fully loaded with comedy   but second half is full of sentiments.  Vamsi Paidpally became successfully to entertain the audiences by different genera of the movie.

Punch: Oopiri- Human Values and bonding are more than Money.
