Editor Review

Talented director Puri Jagannadh is back with youthful action and romantic entertainer  drama ‘Rogue’ and he is introducing newbie Ishaan in Telugu and Kannada film Industry with this venture. Starring Mannara Chopra and Angela Krislinzki, the movie has hit the theaters today. Let’s see the story-line:

Story: Chantigaadu (Ishaan)  loves  Anjali (Angela) very much , who  is the sister of Commissioner of Police. She cheats him as she finds better qualities than Chantigaddu  in the person whom her brother searches and fixes  her marriage with him.  Chanti attacks on her marriage venue, shot by encounter specialist and he accidentally make a constable (Satya) paralyzed. After coming back from Jail, he takes the responsibility  of constable’s family and comes across Anjali (Mannara Chopra) who is constable’s sister.  He recuse her from being attacked by a psycho (Thakur Anoop Singh) whom he knows earlier. Rest of the story, how Chanti saves Anjali and falls in love with her.

Plus  Points:

  • Ishaan
  • Thakur Anoop Singh
  • Visuals

 Minus Points:

  • Songs
  • Direction

Performance:  Ishaan delivers his best as Chantigaadu. He looks good and has decent screen presence. He highlights especially in action sequences. From his look to performance, Puri has worked hard on Ishaan and presents him a very stylish way. Thakur Anoop Singh does his best in negative shades as usual. Mannara Choppra and Angela look beautiful but performance wise,  Angela needs improvement in acting and expression. Mannara justifies with her role. Krishna  Murali, Thulsai, Ali and others perform accordingly.

Technical: Production value is top notch. The visuals captured by Mukesh G are amazing. Music by Sunil Kashyap is ok but BGM is good.  All the dialogues are in Puri’s style.  Editing is ok. Action sequences are well choreographed.  The story-line of the movie is simple and routine. The screenplay lost its flow and has few jerks. Puri becomes fail to engage the audiences.

Analysis : Overall Rogue is an average romantic entertainer movie.  The direction, predictable storyline, tedious narration are the major drawback.  The Cinematography is  one of the major asset of the movie. The boring screenplay and comedy track  that feature Ali and his beggars batch disappoint the audiences. As  Puri is lunching Ishaan as an actor in the film industry, he focuses only on him and become successful  doing  it but he ignores the rest of  proceedings and make Rogue as  routine drama.  Puri did not utilize the potential of Anoop, though the actor tries hard  in his psycho role but his character was not  present  in proper way. The way he behaves, looks silly.
