Balakrishnudu Movie Review :

Young hero Nara Rohit has come up with an interesting film Balakrishnudu, directed by Paven Mallela, which has hit the theaters today. Balakrishnudu is tipped to be a commercial entertainer with a lot of action elements. Let’s see the storyline:

Story: Balu(Nara Rohit)  is a money-minded, free-spirited young guy whose highest priority in life is to earn the  money. Bhanumathi Devi (Ramya Krishnan) has rivalry with Prathap Reddy (Ajay) in Rayalaseema.  Prathap Reddy wants to kill Aadhya (Regina Cassandra ) who is the niece of Bhanumathi Devi but on other side Bhanumathitakes care of Aadhya and appoints Balu as a protector and guard for Aadhya. Soon Pratap  Reddy escapes from the jail and Aadhya falls in the love of Balu. What happens next?  Will Prathap Reddy become successful in killing Aadhya? How will Bhanumathi and Balu save Aadhya from Prathap Reddy? To get these answers, one should watch the movie on silver screen.

Plus Points:

  • Prudhvi’s comedy
  • Regina Cassandra’s Glamour

  • Nara Rohit

Minus Points:

  • Routine story
  • Screenplay
  • Direction
  • Editing
  • Boring execution
  • Lack of twists and turns

Performance: Nara Rohit as Balu performed well.  He tried to impress the audiences with his looks and performance skills.  He adopted different approach by using Rayalseema and Telangana accent in his dialogue. Nara Rohit  also tried imitating Mega Star Chiranjeevi and Natasimha Nandamuri Balakrishna in few scenes. One of the biggest plus points of the film is Prudhvi’s comedy.  Regina Cassandra attracts the audiences by her glamour avatar. Ramya Krishnan as Bhanumathi justifies with her role. Ajay who portrayed antagonist role is superb. Vennela Kishore, Kota Srinivas Rao, Srinivas Reddy, Aditya Menon, Ravi Varma and others performed accordingly.

Technical: One of the major drawback of  the film is old storyline. The screenplay and dialogues lack interest.   Coming to the director Pavan Mallela, he has done a below average job. Vijay Kumar's cinematography is good and editing of Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao could be better. The songs composed by Mani Sharma are good. BGM is ok.  Action sequences are  well choreographed and production values are good.

Analysis: Pawan Mallela came with a routine age old story with no real twists and turn.  30 years Pruthvi saved the film from turning into a disaster. Except for the comedy of Pruthvi, there is nothing in the film. Overall Balakrishnudu is poorly executed film.
