Detective Movie Review :

Vishal starrer mystery thriller Detective, directed by Mysskin has  hit the theaters today. Let’s see the storyline. Detective is the Telugu dubbed version of Thupparivaalan.

Story: Advaita Bhushan(Vishal) is a private detective  in Vizag. He is committed no- nonsense detective who is always looking to bring to light unsolved crimes. One day, a school boy comes to him with  his piggy bank to investigate and find out the person who killed his pet dog. Bhushan starts his interrogation but finds out that there is a huge setup and contract killers behind all this. Behind the murder of his dog, lies a big corporate conspiracy, many other murders and a criminal organisation. Advaita Bhushan begins his Sherlock Homles-esque investigation and with every secret that he unravels, he gets close to the criminal mastermind. To find out how did Advaita Bhushan solve the case or not, watch Detective on Silver screen.

Plus Points:

  • Vishal
  • Screenplay
  • Cinematography
  • BGM
  • Climax

Minus Points

  • Lack of commercial elements
  • Second half
  • Editing

Performance: Vishal has pulled off the  role of detective in easier way  with his quirky mannerisms and body language and natural style in action scenes. Prasanna also does a good job as the detective's assistant, Among the female actors, it is Andrea Jeremiah who shines along with rest of supporting cast of Bhagyaraj, John Vijay and Anu Emmanuel.  Rest of  the cast perform accordingly.

Technical:  The storyline of the film is impressive and interesting.  Editing by Arun Kumar could have been better especially in the second half where there are few drags. The drawback of the film is its length, and it takes its own time to establish characters like in most Mysskin films. One of the major highlights is the action choreography, mostly hand-to-hand combat, shot with panache. The 20-minute climax chase and action scenes in the films are highlighted. Arrol Corelli’s background score are impressive. Karthik Venkatraman's cinematography is brilliant in action sequences.

Analysis: Overall, Detective is an investigative crime drama which has some interesting moments. It's a solid watch for this weekend.
