Editor Review

The mystery thriller revenge drama ‘Keshava’ starring Nikhil Siddhartha and Ritu Varma, directed by Sudheer Varma, has hit the theaters today on 19th May. The movie got the pre-release hype with first look posters and recently released trailer. Let’s see the storyline.

Story: After the several years of his parent’s death, a student Keshava (Nikhil Siddhartha) who is suffering a rare heart condition Dextrocardia, came to know about the killers of his parents and decided to take revenge on them as the persons involved are police officers. He murders a series of police officers without any fear. In order to investigate, special Investigation Officer Sharmila Mishra (Isha Koppikar) steps in.  Rest of the story how Keshava murders all the persons who were involved in the killing of his parents and completes his revenge with the help of Satyabhama (Ritu Varma).

 Plus points:

  • Performance of Nikhil Siddharth
  • Run Time
  • Cinematography
  • Screenplay

 Minus Points:

  • Slow narration

Performance: Nikhil Siddhartha has delivered fabulous performance. He suits the characters perfectly. His facial expressions and body languages are superb.   He is vulnerable as a lover and menacing as a killing-machine.  Ritu Varma as Satyabhama, the college mate of Nikhil,  provides the perfect foil, subtle and super-effective. Isha Koppikar makes a decent comeback and is a perfect fit as cop. She justifies with her character. Anasuya’s voice suits Isha Koppikar completely. Vennela Kishore’s comedy works supremely well. The rest of the cast perform accordingly.

Technical:  The director Sudheer Varma, narrated the story with certain twists and turns. He introduced very fresh concept in a very interesting way.  The cinematography work by Diwakar Mani is fantastic, the good lighting themes, elevated the mood of the movie. All the songs have meaning full lyrics and   Background score is good and it has taken the movie to the next level. Editing is good. The action sequences are choreographed well. The Production values  by Abhishek Pictures are top notch.

Analysis:   Overall Keshava is an entertaining Crime thriller movie. The first half  is engaging with tightly packed thrilling elements and comedy. The director tries to hold the suspense in the first half and takes the film forward but the interval bag is something that raises the curiosity to watch the second half. But the second half seems to be dragged and makes audience bored little bit. Nikhil’s performance, engaging plot-line, impressive music, direction and visual altogether made  Kehava a watchable movie.
