MCA Movie Review :

Natural Star Nani's family entertainer movie MCA aka Middle Class Abbayi,  directed by Venu Sriram of Oh My Friend fame and bankrolled by successful producer Dil Raju under his Sri Venkateswara Creations, has hit the theaters today on 21st December. Premam and Fidaa fame Sai Pallavi is playing the female lead. This is Nanis third release this year. His previous two movies Nenu Local stuck gold at his box office. The trailer of Middle Class Abbayi promises an engaging ‘masala’ entertainer with the right amount of  love, action and comedy, with a ton of lines giving lessons on middle-class value. Lets see the storyline of MCA.

Story: Nani is a jobless middle class guy who lives with his brother Rajeev Kanakala. Bhumika Chawla enters into their life as Rajeev Kanakalas wife. Nani hates his brothers wife as he believes that Bhumika is coming in between him and his brother. Soon Bhumika gets transferred to Warangal as RTO and Rajeev gets posted to Delhi on training. Rajeev requests his bother Nani and sends him to Warangal. Sai Pallavi who is an undergraduate student in Warangal, falls in the love of Nani at first sight. Soon Nanis brothers wife lands in trouble with transport mafia Shiva (Vijay), who operates illegal bus fleet. What happens next forms the crux of the story.

Plus Points:

·         Nani

·         Sai Pallavi

·         Bhumika Chawlas characterization

·         First Half

·         Comedy sequences

Minus Points:

·         Second half

·         Routine storyline

·         BGM

·         Editing

Performance:  As usual Nani delivered his fantastic performance.   He did justice with Middle Class Abbayi character as helping his vadhina in cutting vegetables, grabbing milk from the booth and groceries from the market etc. Nani has provided entertainment when it's needed and his performances and comic scenes are the major asset of the movie. His quick and witty dialogues are not new to his fans, and are a highlight in the film. Sai Pallavi looks good. The major attraction of MCA is Bhumika Chawla.  She does a good job as RTA officer Jyothi.   Posani Krishna Murali, Rajeev Kanakala and Naresh are good. Vennela Kishore, Subhaleka Sudhakar, Pavitra Lokesh, Priyadarshi Pullikonda and others performed accordingly.

Technical:   The storyline of MCA is simple and predictable. There is no excitement in the flow of the scenes. The songs composed by Devi Sri Prasad are entertaining.  Background score is just ok. Cinematography by Sameer Reddy is impressive as he showcases Warangal and its surroundings areas nicely. Editing could have been better especially in second half. Production Value is good. The director made the proceedings a bit simple.

Analysis: Overall, MCA is a routine commercial entertainer . Nanis performance and Bhumikas characterization are the major assets of MCA.  The movie is predictable and there is no surprise.  The first half is interesting and has good moments like Nani’s comedy with Bhumika Chawla and Sai Pallavi but second half is all about cat and mouse game between actor and villain without any exciting factor. The film unit failed to turn it into an awesome entertaining product.
