Okka Kshanam Movie Review :

Allu Sirish, Surabhi, Avasarala Srinivas, Seerath Kapoor starrer Okka Kshanam directed by  Vi Anand  has hit the theaters today on 28th December. The makers are confident that the film will set a trend of sci-fi thrillers in Tollywood creating a new benchmark.  Okka Kshanam is a thriller based on the concept of parallel lives where two couples’ lives are interconnected. Let’s see the storyline.

Story: Jeeva (Allu Sirish) and Jyotshna (Surabhi) who meet in a mall, fall in love with each other.  Their families also know about their relationship. Both are happy with each other and soon they came across neighbour’s couple (Srinivas Avasarala and Seerat Kapoor) who are disturbed in their marriage. They find out that each and every incident that happened in this couple’s life is getting repeated in their lives as well. They come to know the parallel life concept from a college professor.  The twist arise in the tale when Swathi (Seerat  Kapoor) gets killed by her husband. So, keeping the parallel life concept, Jyo leaves Jeeva. Will Jyo get killed too?   How will Jeeva and Jyo meet again? How will Jeeva come out from these situations? To get these answers, one should watch the movie on silver screen.

 Plus Points:

·         Performance

·         Srinivas Avasarala and Seerat Kapoor’s chemistry

·         Concept

Minus Points:

·         Slow pace

Performance:  Allu Sirish is growing from film to film. He has  done fantastic job in the role of Jeeva. He has improved a lot his performance skills. He has come up with a decent enough performance in this film. His body language is more presentable. Surabhi as Jyotshna is good and has impressed yet again. The performance of Srinivas Avasarala is superb.  He adds weight to the proceedings with another praiseworthy performance. Seerat Kapoor is fine.  The onscreen chemistry of  Srinivas Avasarala and Seerat Kapoor is impressive. Dasari Kiran Kumar, Raghu Karumanchi, Viva Harsha, Sudharshan Reddy, Jaya Prakash, Kasi Viswanath and Rohini are good in their respective roles.

Technical:   The storyline of Okka Kshanam is fresh and unique. Director VI Anand deserves applause for introducing this genre to Telugu cinema. The music by Mani Sharma is  just ok  but his background score is good.  Background music also creates impact in emotional scenes.  Production values are good. The cinematography work handled by Shyam K Naidu is superb. Editing by Chota K. Prasad is ok. Coming on the director Vi Anand, he came up with interesting storyline and the way, he has executed the movie is appreciable.  He has connected the parallel life points quite well and makes the things interesting for the viewers.

Analysis:  Allu Sirish has come a long way as an actor and is growing in confidence with each film. Made on a decent budget,  Okka Kshanam has enough moments to be a successful one at the box office. The  Parallel life concept, performances of its star cast and suspense elements  are  the basic assets of this film. If you ignore the slightly slower pace and a typical climax, the film will entertain you this weekend.
