Raja the Great Movie Review :

Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja and Mehreen Pirzada starrer 'Raja the Great', directed by Anil Ravipudi of Pataas and Supreme fame, has hit the theaters today on 18th October.  Let’s see how it is.

Story:  Prakash Raj is a very sincere police officer and he loves his daughter Lucky (Mehreen Kaur Pirzada) very much.  In one of his operations, Prakash Raj gets killed by villain Dev Raj and now he  target to his daughter Lucky to take the revenge. Lucky moves to Darjeeling and hide there. Police IG (Sampath Raj) appoints a secret group of Policemen to save Lucky.  Raja (Ravi Tea), who is blind and want to become a Police due to her mother’s wish, also enters the mission and save Lucky. How he rescues Lucky from Dev Raj, forms the rest of the story.

Plus Points:

  • Ravi Teja
  • Entertainment

Minus Points:

  • Storyline
  • Second half

Performance: Ravi Teja has delivered his fantastic performance in the role of blind guy Raja, who is well trained to live as normal person without any problem. His comic timing is best. Mehreen Kaur Pirzada performs well as Lucky. She looks gorgeous. Ravi Teja’s son Madhan  as childhood Raja justify with his role. Radhika Sharath Kumar as Raja’s mother is good. Thanikella Bharani as bad guy’s father is ok. Hari Teja, who was recently in news for her stint on Jr NTR's Bigg Boss Telugu in famous local Hyderabadi song Gunna Gunna Mamidi, grabs several eyeballs. Prakash Raj, Sampath and others perform accordingly.

Technical: The storyline of Raja The Great is simple and routine but interesting. The dialogues are good. The production value of Sri Venkateswara Creations is rich. Cinematography work by Mohana Krishna is noteworthy and visuals of Darjeeling are well shot. Editing by Tammi Raju is ok. The stunts are shot well. Art department did good job. The songs composed by Sai Kartheek are good and the background score of the film is pretty impressive and elevates the film decently. Coming to the work of  director Anil Ravipudi, he has done a  decent job with the film. Director has written the hero’s characterization well and made sure that the entertainment episodes have come out well.  The comedy has  worked well.  He adds good racy elements during the first half but slightly dips in his execution during the later part.

Analysis: Raja is Great is a typical mass masala movie, which has some very interesting moments.  The film has sufficient ingredients to make it work at box office! The Plus points are Ravi Teja and comedy.  If you ignore the routine story and a slightly dragged second half, the film will entertain you this weekend. On a whole, Raja The Great has elements and intent that attract family crowds this festival season.
