Superstar Mahesh Babu’s last film, Brahmotsavam was a big disaster and later he collaborated with AR Murugadoos for bilingual Spyder , which has hit the theaters today on 27th September. It is expected that Spyder will create the history at the box office. Murugadoss is popular for delivering blockbuster like Ghajini, Tupaki, Ramana , Katthi etc. This is the first time that Mahesh has made an effort to reach out to audiences in other parts of the country. Let’s see how it works on us.
Story: Shiva (Mahesh Babu) is an Officer in Intelligence Bureau who devises a software which will find out the people in trouble and panic. He enjoys his work and one day he hears the conversation between two girls. Later he sends lady police to guard the house of the girl. In an attempt to save a teenage girl, Shiva is led to Bhairavudu (SJ Suryah) and his brother (Bharath) who are hellbent on killing people due to their past. The rest of the story is all about how Shiva manages to nab them.
- Mahesh Babu
- SJ Suryah
- Women Episode
- Decent Cinematography
- Tamil flavor
Performance: Murugadoss designed the characterization of Mahesh Babu to suit his body language. Mahesh does a brilliant job as an employee of Intelligence Bureau. His body language and expressions are appreciable. He looks damn stylish. Rakul Preet Singh got less screen space and but she grabs the attention of audiences by her performance and glamour. Priyadarshi, RJ Balaji, Krishna justify with their roles as Siva friends. S J Suryah has given terrific performance as a psycho who enjoys the cry of others. Bharath performs well. Rest of the cast performed accordingly.
Technical: The story line of Spyder in interesting. The screenplay and narration elevate the proceedings. The Dialogues are good. Just alike the Cast, Technicians had contributed what was required from them for a subject like Spyder. Background Score is nice. Songs composed by Harris Jayaraj are good. Production Values are rich. Camera Work by Santosh Shivan is a huge asset. The Cinematography work in some of the sequences like Lanco Hills Episode, Hospital Fight etc is too good. A Sreekar Prasad’s editing is impressive. Art department did nice job and VFX shots are average. Stunts and action sequences are choreographed well.
Analysis: Spyder has all the elements for a commercial genre and also has emotional scenes that will touch the audiences. There are enough twists and turns in the story to keep the thrill right through. The pre-interval twist in the tale is really mind blowing and the audiences can’t wait for the second half to begin. The second half is as gripping and interesting as the first. The climax scene is the highlight of the film. Overall Spyder is bound to sweep the audiences off their feet.
