Ungarala Rambabu Movie Review :

Sunil and Miya George starrer romantic and comedy entertainer 'Ungarala Rambabu', directed by Kranthi Madhav of Malli Malli Idhi Rani Roju fame , has hit the theaters today on 15th September. The film has received a U/A certificate from the censor board and has a run-time of 2 hours 20 minutes.  Let’s see the storyline.

Storyline: Ram Babu (Sunil Varma) is an orphan, who is brought up by his caring grandfather. But, as he enters youth, his grandfather dies leaving behind huge debts. Rambabu vows to return all the debts. When he incurs losses in business, his mentor suggests him to marry a girl born in a particular zodiac and star to better his condition. While he is searching for one, he finds his lady luck in Savitri (Miya George),  who is the daughter of Ranga (Prakash Raj), a communist leader in Kerala. She joins in his travel office as manager and Ram Babu tries to woo Savitri, but she asks him to convince her father (Prakash Raj) to take their relationship to next level. How he does it to get his lady luck forms the crux of the story of Ungarala Rambabu.

 Plus Points:

  • Sunil
  • Performance
  • Comedy

Minus Points:

  • Screenplay
  • Second half

Performance: Sunil as Rambabu performed well. His comic timing is good. Miya George has also  done her best.  The chemistry between Sunil and Miya George  are the highlights of the film. Posanai Krishna Murali, who appears as a baba also provides comic relief. Prakash Raj as communist leader Ranga and others have also done justice to their roles. All other actors did their best in the roles they are given.

Technical:  The storyline of Ungarala Rambabu  is simple. Screenplay is good in first half and is a disappointment in the second half. Dialogues are partly good and partly average. The movie has rich production values and Ghibran's music and Sarvesh Murari's beautiful picturisation are highlighted. Editing could have been much better and it faults the second half. Art department did a nice job and production values are rich.

Analysis: Kranthi Madhav has created an interesting screenplay and entertains movie buffs with some songs, romance and comedy scenes in the first half. But the story stumbles in the second half and especially the last 30 minutes are dragging and boring.
