Krishna Marimuthu's Yuddham Sharanam, a romantic action thriller film starring Naga Chaitanya, Srikanth and Lavanya Tripathi has hit the theaters today on 8th September in a very grand manner. Now days Samantha Ruth Prabhu has turned into a PR machine for her fiancé Naga Chaitanya, She was one who re-tweeted all the news related to ‘Yuddham Sharanam’ and helped in promotion of the film. Let’s see how it works on us.
Story: Arjun (Chay Akkineni) is a happy-go-lucky guy, an aspiring drone maker who has his loving parents Murali and Seetha (Rao Ramesh and Revathi) and sisters as his pillars of strength. Murali and Seetha both spread happiness and do social work treating patients in rural areas under their Swasthya foundation. Arjun falls in love with Anjali an intern doctor (Lavanya Tripati). Anjali is the daughter of his father’s friends. When Arjun is about to confess his love for Anjali to his parents, they goes missing and a series of bomb blasts happen around the city. What happened to their parents? Where do JD Shastri (Murali Sharma), ruthless criminal Nayak (Sreekanth) fit in this entire setup? What is the reason behind the bomb blasts? How will Arjun solves the mystery? To get these answers, one should watch the film on silver screen.
Performance: Naga Chaitanya and Lavanya Tripathi have portrayed never played before roles and they have done justice to their roles excellently. Their performances and the sparkling chemistry between the two are highlights of the movie. Naga Chaitanya as Arjun has given a matured performance. He look handsome throughout the movies. He delivered an electrifying performance. Lavanya Tripati justifies with her role and looks gorgeous. Srikanth Meka as Nayak is terrific. He is so menacing in his role. Rao Ramesh and Revathi are superb as parents of Chaitu. Vinodh Kumar, Raja Ravindra, Kireeti, Priyadarshi and all other actors have done good jobs and it is enjoyable.
Technical: Story-line of Yuddham Sharanam is thin. Screenplay is very ordinary. Songs composed by Pellichoopulu fame Vivek Sagar are pleasing to ears and even the picturization is impressive but the problem is with their placement. Background Score disappoint the audiences. Cinematography by Niketh Bommireddy is colorful. Production Values of Vaaraahi Chalana Chitram a is good. Editing by Kripakaran who is also a debutante is quite disappointing. Dialogues are good and situational. Stunts and action sequences are choreographed well.
Analysis: Overall Yuddham Sharanam is a disappointing fare. The performance of Naga Chaitanya is one of the major attraction, he carries the film on his shoulder and make it watchable. It is all about the battle between a young guy Arjun and criminal, Nayak, who is proud of his network. First half of the movie is average with the family bonding, emotions and love track between the Chaitu and Lavanya whereas second half is all about play between Arjun and Nayak which is not so entertaining. Screenplay and slow narration are the biggest drawbacks. Of course, there are few good moments which keep the viewers engaged. Krishna Marimuthu failed to maintain the same standards throughout the movie. Overall the film irritates the audience.
