Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff, who will be next seen in Sujeeth Reddy’s directorial venture Saaho starring Baahubali star Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor, has signed Kasthuri Raja’s upcoming movie Paandi Muni where he will essay the role of an aghori.
Kasthuri Raja, who known for launching his son Dhanush’s career with the film Thulluvadho Ilamai, is making his come back in direction after a decade.
Jackie Shroff has been the part of several South Indian movies such as Aaranya Kaandam, Kochadaiyaan and Maayavan. Apart from Jackie Shroff, other stars- Nikesha Patel, Bengali actress Meghali and Vasu Vikram are also the part of this upcoming horror thriller Paandi Muni.
Jackie Shroff will be seen playing an ascetic who believes he has spriritual powers that are inferior only to Lord Shiva. The makers are planning to shoot the major part of the film in Kurangani, Javadhu Hills (near Thiruvannamalai), Malaysia and Thailand.
During the media interaction Kasthuri Raja said, “Jackie Shroff will play an aghori in Paandi Muni. He is a devotee of Lord Shiva, who believes his spiritual powers are second only to Lord Shiva himself. He has so much power that he can even breathe life into a body. The story takes place 50 years ago. Paandi Muni is also a triangular love story.”
Cinematographer Madhu Ambat and music composer Srikanth Deva have roped in for the film.
In saaho, Jackie Shroff is playing antagonist and he will be seen locking horns with Prabhas.
